Practice pharmacist
Michael Cryan
Our practice pharmacist holds regular surgeries at the King St Surgery and can help to manage patients with long term conditions who take regular medication. He specialises in high blood pressure and helps patients to get the most from their medicines. Michael can not only advise on prescribing but he can also authorise and issue prescriptions, in close working with you and your doctor’s agreement. He is available for medication reviews, especially if you do not see your doctor on a regular basis.

Our Health Visitors hold regular clinics at both sites. They care for children up to the age of 5 years. In addition to routine advice on caring for your baby and older child, she can offer advice and support to the mother too. There is also a planned programme of health and other development checks.
Our health visitor for the elderly can visit our patients aged over 75 years, who are housebound. She provides regular assessments of these patients for the Doctor.
Most of the district nurses’ work is done in the community. They do provide a short daily clinic for patients who are mobile at lunchtime at King Street and assist patients who require dressings, staple/suture removal and Doppler (blood flow) assessments.
Our patients at the Bailrigg Health Centre, who require district nursing services, are currently seen at the Nurse Led Unit on Lancaster University campus in term time. Outside term, patients attend the King St surgery.
