Mental Health Graduate Worker
This is a new role and you can be seen at the surgery for an assessment to see whether cognitive behavioural therapy or group sessions might help your problem. Your GP will direct you to the graduate worker if he thinks your problems may be helped by this type of therapy.
Community Psychiatric Counsellor
The counsellor sees patients with situational problems, such as those related to bereavement, relationships and work. You would normally be referred by your Doctor and seen by appointment at the King St Surgery or at the mental health team premises.
Dietician
We have a visiting dietician who holds clinics every alternate Thursday afternoons from 1.30 – 4.30 at the King St Surgery. Her surgery is by appointment only, after referral from a Doctor.
We have a visiting physiotherapist from the Royal Lancaster Infirmary who holds clinics at the Bailrigg Health Centre. Her surgeries are by appointment only after referral from the Doctor or from the Hospital.
