Administration

Practice Director

    Lynn Jones

Lynn has overall responsibility for the smooth running of the Practice and ensures we fulfil our clinical and legal responsibilities, whilst putting the patients first. In an ever changing NHS, Lynn has the task of ensuring we keep abreast of all change and advises the Partners in procedural and strategic matters. She also works closely with the PCT, hospitals and other agencies so that we can offer our patients a better service.

 Practice Managers

The practice manager is responsible for making the practice run smoothly. This means arranging for enough doctors and staff to be available each day, paying bills, buying supplies, and ensuring the Practice is paid for work it does. In general there are very few occasions when you need to approach a practice manager directly.

Reception / Supervising / Audit and Secretarial staff

The receptionist is always a good place to start when you want some help. Not only do they know all about what’s available at the Practice, they often have a great deal of knowledge about health services in the area.
Unfortunately one of the most common myths/complaints about receptionists is that they are obstructive. The impression is they don’t want anyone to pass them. It’s sad that this is how they are perceived, because it couldn’t be further from the truth.
The main role of the receptionist staff is to help patients find their way quickly and simply to the help that they need. If it as an appointment that’s needed they will ask you some questions to make sure you see the most suitable medical person for that problem. Although they go under the general name of “receptionist” they also have other responsibilities such as the scanning and filing of letters from hospitals, inputting data onto the computer, repeat prescriptions, audit, answering queries, giving out results and ensuring each consultation room has everything it needs.

The Practice is committed to the training and professional development of all staff. We close the surgery on a Wednesday between 12-1pm for meeting and training purposes.
